Marie de l’Incarnation
Marie de l’Incarnation arrived in Quebec in August 1st 1639 with two other Ursulines and Madame de la Peltrie, a rich widow who was the benefactress of the Ursulines. They intended to found a monastery and a school for Amerindian and French girls.

Marie-Catherine de Saint-Augustin
Catherine Simon de Longpré was born in Normandy, May 3rd , 1632. At the tender age of twelve and a half she entered the Hotel Dieu of Bayeux, from where she sailed to Canada to share the exile and the hardships of those who preceded her there.
Bp. François de Laval
Most of Quebec’s distinguished figures – Cartier, Champlain, Montcalm, etc. – have been honoured through its toponymic nomenclature. One man’s name, however, graces the greatest number of entities and indisputably outstrips them all: Bishop de Laval!
