Catherine Simon de Longpré was born in Normandy, May 3rd , 1632. At the tender age of twelve and a half she entered the Hotel Dieu of Bayeux, from where she sailed to Canada to share the exile and the hardships of those who preceded her there. She was barely sixteen. Her whole life is the result of the mission which she received from Heaven and which she accomplished by offering herself as a victim for salvation of her adopted country. The ardour of her love made her ask Our Lord for the grace of not passing a moment of her life without sharing in His Passion.
